Salvage Operation Seminar in Stockholm

The Swedish system for salvage in connection with fire and catastrophe is among the best in the world. Salvage operations can be of decisive importance for a company’s survival and hence are of great significance for employment in the area. Those without insurance and those who cannot afford to lose anything are those who have most to win from a well developed system. The insurance industry also has a stake in salvage since it contributes to reducing claims costs. Lower claims costs entail reduced insurance premium rates, which makes it possible for a larger proportion of the population to obtain economic protection through insurance.

During the three-day seminar in Stockholm the participants will have the opportunity together with the lecturers to examine and discuss the Salvage Operation experience in Sweden, with a view to its application in other countries. Stakeholders and experts from key institutions who implemented and developed the system in Sweden are lecturers at this advanced-level seminar. The seminar is designed in cooperation with The Swedish Salvage Organization, Authorities, the Fire Brigades, The Swedish Fire Protection Association, leading insurance companies and independent experts. The methodology is a combination of lectures, study visits, discussions and case studies mixed with cultural and social activities. The seminar will cover issues like creation of an organization for salvage operations in connection with fire etc. salvage equipment and working methods.
